[Question:] May I affiliate with Lovely Designs? (TOP?)
[Answer:] No, I'm sorry, but I'm not looking for anymore affiliates. Perhaps you'd like to link exchange with Lovely Designs, instead?

[Question:] Can I alter the graphics? (TOP?)
[Answer:] That depends on what sort of "altering" you plan on doing. If you want to put your name on the graphic (i.e. avatar for use on forums), then sure. However, if you're talking about any other different kind of altering, like changing the graphic's colors or layout's image...then please contact the creator of the graphic before doing anything. ** If the graphic is made by me (Christine), then I'll pretty much allow any sort of altering, so long as I'm given credit for the (original) graphic.

[Question:] How often do you change the site's layout? (TOP?)
[Answer:] It really depends; such as if I have time, or if I feel the site layout should be changed. Comments made by visitors on the layout also make an impact as to how long the current layout will stay. Of course under certain circumstances (like school), the current layout is sure to stay up for more than 1-2 months.

[Question:] How often do you update? (TOP?)
[Answer:] As often as I can, or when I find the free time to do so. I'll try what I can to keep this site from being dead.

[Question:] What program(s) do you use to make your graphics? (TOP?)
[Answer:] You can check the Credits page to see what types of programs and resources have been used.

[Question:] Are you looking for any staff or crew? (TOP?)
[Answer:] I'm sorry, but not anymore. I'd just like this to be an independent project of mines, for now.

[Question:] What's with the Terms of Service? (TOP?)
[Answer:] The Terms of Service (TOS) is like an agreement between you and me. You agree, technically, to follow those "rules" when visiting this site and using the graphics. Similar to a contract, but not as harsh, I'd say. Of course if the terms are violated, there will be consequences.

[Question:] Can you make Neopets graphics? Please! (TOP?)
[Answer:] Although I do have such plans to create Neopet-related graphics, it is still in the making. So you'll need to keep checking back for any updates on this matter...

[Question:] Can you help me with (insert inquiry)? (TOP?)
[Answer:] That depends what you need help with. But if you do need it, contact me and I'll see what I can do. Please do try to solve your problems and such before you ask me, first, however -- it does get a bit frustrating when someone continuously emails me, asking me to help them. Emailing me once in a while is fine, but let's no overdo it, all right?

[Question:] I was wondering, but why aren't you giving out awards anymore? I saw another site that had an award from you. (TOP?)
[Answer:] I'm sorry, but considering my other "duties" in life, I've found it hard to keep up with giving out awards (or reviews) anymore. So I had closed down that section quite some time ago. And I want to focus more on graphic-creating, since that is basically what Lovely Designs is more about.

[Question:] I'm using one of your layouts, and I was wondering how I can make it so the links show up on the other side (of the main section)? (TOP?)
[Answer:] I know of two ways: Inline frames (aka Iframes), or PHP. You can find an inline frames tutorial at Lissa Explains, and if you have PHP supported on your site, you can use the "PHP include" code.

[Question:] I want to use one of your layouts but how can I view the HTML coding of it? (TOP?)
[Answer:] To see the HTML coding of a layout, first 'Preview' the layout and view its source--the source is the HTML coding. Or you can download the layout and open the .zip file, instead.

[Question:] Can you make me (insert graphic request)? (TOP?)
[Answer:] Sorry, but I don't do graphic requests anymore; so please don't ask me.

[Question:] Can the layouts be used on Yahoo! Geocities? (TOP?)
[Answer:] Yes, the layouts can be used on Yahoo! Geocities, and any other free host (company) that uses the usual HTML (i.e. Freewebs, Angelfire, Tripod, Host Ultra, Brinkster).

[Question:] I've downloaded one of your layouts. But how do I put it up at my site? (TOP?)
[Answer:] To put the layout on your site, first download the .zip file. Once you've done so, you'll need to open it, or "unzip" it. If you don't have a Zip program, you can download a freeware one from this site: Filzip.com

Open up your Zip program, and open up the .zip file that contains the layout. With the .zip file open and all the files shown, "Extract" the files out of the .zip to somewhere on your hard drive.

After extracting the files, log in to your account (or FTP account if that's the way you upload/edit your site). Once you've logged in (if it's not FTP), go to your File Manager, and "Upload" all the files you extracted. If you're on FTP, just transfer/upload all the files of the layout into your subdomain once you've logged in.

Now just read the information contained within the index.html file you uploaded (view the actual web page) and you can start editing that file and putting in your own content.

[Question:] How do you get the characters from video games, anime, and other graphics then make it into a banner or something like that? (TOP?)
[Answer:] Well, first, you'll need a graphics program--such as Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Paint would also work, though it's not an advanced graphics program like Adobe Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Next, you can search around the web for an image(s) that you'd like to make the graphic(s) out of. You can always check out Lovely Designs' Credits page to see our list of image resources.

Once you've found the image(s) that you want to make a graphic out of, you copy the image(s) and paste it all in a new document in your graphics program. From there, just start making whatever you want out of it--like cropping or resizing the image, applying brushes, applying filters and effects, adding text, etc. It's all on experimenting, trial and error, and so forth.

[Question:] Can you tell me how to use Cutenews? (TOP?)
[Answer:] Make sure that your host has given you PHP support, first off. You'll need it in order to use Cutenews. Anyways, download the script from CutePHP. Once you've downloaded the .zip file, you'll need to extract the files. You'll possibly need a zip program to do that, like Filzip.

Once you've extracted the files, upload all of them to your site, basically. Then take a look at the "readme" file that's included in the .zip file to learn more about installing and running Cutenews.

[Question:] I have a question in concerns to CSS: I've set the visited and active links to (color #1). After clicking on a link and going back to the home page, the link was now (color #1). The question is will other people see the link(s) as (color #1) once they've clicked on it? If I edit the home page will the visted and active links go back to (color #2)? (TOP?)
[Answer:] *nods* Yes, if people have visited some of the links already, then the links they already visited will be (color #1).

As for editing the homepage related question...as far as I know, no it won't...unless you've changed the links, that is--as long as the links are the same and the person has already visited them, then they will remain (color #1).

The only ways that the links will go back to (color #2) for a person is if you've edited/changed the links, the person has cleared the History on their computer, and/or the person has cleared the cookies on their computer.

[Question:] Is there is a way I can keep the visited and active links the same color, even though they cleared their history, cleared their cookies, or I change the url of the link? (TOP?)
[Answer:] Sure, if you set the active and visited links to the same color, simply enough, through CSS. You can refer to the CSS tutorial I made.

[Question:] Can you tell me how you made your abstract arts??? (TOP?)
[Answer:] I don't really keep any record or write down the steps to making each and every of my abstract arts. So...I'm sorry? However, here's the tutorial that first helped me with actually making an abstract art: www.

[Question:] How do I use the layouts on Xanga? (TOP?)
[Answer:] You'll have to go and try it out for yourself. I'm sure you can use the layouts on Xanga; I've seen it done before. There might be some altering of Xanga's coding that you'll need to do, however...although I really wouldn't know. I don't use Xanga.

[Question:] Why don't you have a tag-board on the site? (TOP?)
[Answer:] Lovely Designs used to have a tag-board...until people kept spamming it with insults of useless crap. Not to mention some people found it amusing to impersonate me. So I eventually took it down to stop all that, sadly enough. I don't like the idea of my mood being shot at with rude spamming. Thus, I have don't have any intentions at putting up a tag-board anytime soon...

[Question:] Can I donate graphics to Lovely Designs? (TOP?)
[Answer:] No, I'm sorry, but I am not accepting graphic donations anymore. After giving it much thought, I've decided that I would just like Lovely Designs to really be an "independent" project of mines at the moment.
